I am now using 4 T5 2 white 2 blue on a 4 by 2 by 2.5 height tank. When all lights are one..it seems that the light are "white". when I visit fish shops the lighting effect has slight blue or reddish effect (from fish farm).

What do i need to achieve the same effect? Upgrade or add on? What type of lighting to use?

Thanks.

Hi Randy,

My FOWLR tank also 4x2x2.5. Now using Aqua Zonic Super Actinic Blue (quite blue to me) with white T5 also.

If u want to have more blue, suggest that maybe u can use 3 blue tubes and 1 white?

Do note that I am suggesting this from a "FOLWR" point of view because if you have corals then u would have to consider other lighting requirements. :)

Hi thanks for the information. I was concern about insufficient white light cause I have some lps in the tank. So what are the consideration of other lighting requirement to achieve that?

:)

Thanks.

The lighting may not be sufficient for light-hungry corals if they are at the sand bed, considering ur tank with 2.5 feet height.

Something u might want to look into?

Wat soft of LPS you keeping? (otherwise very difficult to advise) Usually hammer, frogspawn and octo, these types...are more light demanding.

my frogspawn and false octo..they start to turn darker /brownish as they were (more greenish) in the past..not sure if its the 6-7 drops of iodine weekly that turns them darker hehe..
