Copper band butterfly

Hi all,

I have recently just bought this copper band butterfly from coral farm lately. The problem is the fish doesn't seem to be interested in the flake food which I buy for damsels. May I know what type of food is suitable for this kind of fish? Does the frozen brine shrimp help? K anyone help me?? Millon thanks!!!

honestly speaking, its one of the hardest butterflies to keep just because its hard to make it eat... but once its acclimatize and feeding well, no problem at all.....

Try BS several time and it might work. My CB do not eat till it finish up all the whatever insde my tank before eating BS....patient.

I've several attempts on this fish. The one I succeeded eats brineshrimps & Mysis. Unfortunately, it becomes more & more skinny after months and finally died.

try feeding it with live baby brine shrimp or mysis shrimp ...but i think that your damsel will eat all of them first before your butterfly will.... it not a good idea to keep butterfly with damsel together cause damsel are arr....... and they are fast eater not like butterfly....slow fishes

Thanks for the valuable advice..I notice that when I put in flake food, my butterfly doesn't interested at all until I put in frozen brimp shrimp then it will start to eat. Should I alway stick to BS?? or try diff food for my butterfly??

Oh congrats on getting your butterfly to eat!! I think you should stick to frozen food (nto only brine.. Mysis also) to get it to eat and occasionally drop in flake to see if it eats...

And yah... Make sure your damsel doesn't bother the butterlfy...

I once got a CB butterfly that eats like a pig. Try frozen blood worms, if it still dont eat,try live tublifex worms( those for freash water) to get it started firstthen swith slowly to frozen but be sure to wash it clean. It works for me many times, hope it does for u.
