SRC Member Kalib Posted December 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2003 My damsel swims around almost all the time, rarely see it hiding. Even if it hides, its only for awhile before it swims back out. Think its better you take out the LR and look for the dead body. Sounds very much to me that the fish died and is now decaying in the tank, thus the high level of ammonia. I think a partial water change would be a good idea as well to reduce the ammonia. You mentioned you have a small crab, I think ur damsel is in your fish and crab stomach already. One of my damsel also missing, last night saw the fish biting the remaining skeleton. So not only crab, shrimp is eating, damsel and tang also eating. Quote Tank 4x2x2.
SRC Member blacknails Posted December 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2003 Yup yup... your damsel is already dead and digested... If other fish disappear cause of hiding I believe but damsel not very likely... It's either stressed (cause of improper salinity) or dead... And for your 2 otehr damsels.. I believe that after they settled in they will start fighting so look out for that and good luck..
Dispar_Anthias
Ammonia at 8mg/l, IMo suggets you complete the cycle in your tank before adding anymore htings, pls stop killing poor fishes..... with 8mg, almost any fish that eneter the tank will die.
