lightningstrike
the arrangement of ur LRs all depends on ur own creativity, there's no right all wrong answers to it...... juz buy all the LRs u need first and arrange them there and then....... no use thinking about it right now as u dun even know what size and shape r available for u to show ur creativity...... SRC Member Acanthurus pyroferus Posted December 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2003 whatever you do don't use egg crates or "mini" stools to stack your LR's on for height. Use only rocks as it looks more natural. Just go for the big ones at the bottom and some midium sized ones in the middle for stacking some flats inbetween and securing. Small pieces can go lastly on top if you want or add more flats to stack corals that need the brightest lighting. Have fun and don't break your back
SRC Member seamonkee Posted December 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2003 Yup. A lot goes to your creativity... I go for flat or long ones to use as bridges and caves. Boulder types as support... Try to go for caves... you fishes will really like them..

SRC Supporter ReDDeviLs Posted December 3, 2003 SRC Supporter Share Posted December 3, 2003 i notice that some of my fishes love to swim in the open space..so i stack my rocks more on 1 side, and leaving lots of space on another side... lightningstrike
when i setted up my tank, i juz dumped all the LRs into my tank and let it cycle....... wif whatever pests there r in the tank........ but if u want to safeguard urself against unwanted pests, esp..... mantis shrimp....... u can always prepare a tub or pail of saltwater wif salinity at about 1.03 to 1.035....... leave ur newly bought LRs in there for about 10 to 15 mins...... guarantee whatever that lives in the rocks will die!!!! SRC Member harmony Posted December 7, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 7, 2003 Have to make sure that the stack of LR is stable and dun tumble (collapse). Some ppl use epoxy... For me, I just stack them and give it a good shake to make sure it is secure and the rocks are "lock" in place. There are many rough, uneven surface on the rocks. Use it to anchor into position. Aquascaping...up to your creativity That's the fun part.
SRC Member blacknails Posted December 7, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 7, 2003 Yah most important make sure the rocks are stable and will not tumble.. Other than that aquascaping is indeed fun!! Good luck!!

SRC Member AquaRa Posted December 7, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 7, 2003 i've got a few of these annoying worms, kept on biting my fishes. crevices will be taken care of, as they will surely be formed in anyway u place your live rocks. the more hiding places there are, the more likely, your fishes will display natural behaviour and the less likely they will hide
