I suggest you either tee out from your primary return to the chiller. I would not advise using a pump too powerful channeled to your chiller then as return to your tank. Flow will be too high for your chiller resulting in inefficient chilling of your tank.

Oh bro then for the chiller to efficient to chill the tank wat flowrate of pump should i use to cool down 5ft by 2 by 2.5?if i now use 2 seperate pump

1st return ocean runner 6500L/H

so for the 2nd return what flow rate should i use?

hi bro, you have consider whether you want to save money to just have one pump. If the answer is yes, then you have to understand if one fails, all fail. Anyway, in my opinion, it will be good to have 2 returns. Incase one down, there is another pump to ensure water circulation. If you want to do T-off, you must ensure valve is catered for each opening ...this is to allow you to do maintenance. Just remember T-off will cause headloss and any elbow joint will also add to it.

ok bro think i got what u mean..Currently my 1st return using OR6500 so mine 2nd return use OR3500 & the chiller using pump flow rate of 3500l/h is it enough?

ya....err...cant remember whether is it OR3000 or OR3500. Use that return as chiller pump. So in case one is down, the other still runs but if both ....touch wood...then consider suai.....lol. You know the recommended flow rate for your chiller? If 3000 or 3500 is slightly higher than the recommended, it should be fine due to headloss through all the elbow joint, etc. Me also learning, so maybe experienced bro or sis can confirm this. maybe you can do a past search on reefers setup to understand or check with the maker....if you know the maker...hehe

The OR3500 should be good enough to act as chiller pump. From my understanding, PC chiller do not have flow restriction. You should get at least 2500L/H minus head lost.

There is only a handful of chiller in the market which had restricted flow where high volume pump is not recommended. E.g. Teco RA680

I using a 1262 for my 1/2hp chiller. i guess OR3500 is gd enuff....
