Painting Dead Coral

Decided to paint a dead skeleton coral. This is the picture of it after 1 month in my tank.

I uses the Acrylic paint as shown below. It is suppose to be hardy as it is use to paint wall mural. To play safe, after drying, i soak the coral in a pail of water for 2weeks before puting it into my tank.

Acrylic paint is water based, so for most parts, it is non-toxic to humans. Problem is that your paint contains cadmium as an ingredient for the red colouring - this is a toxic metal if ingested by humans, dunno if it will affect marine life... but most probably

Bro, thanks for the advice. But, i think Cadmium Scarlet written on the bottle is use to describe the color type, i went to check my other bottles and i have Process Yellow, SAP Green written on the same location. Bottle did not state what is the ingredient. The reason why i choose this is because it is written on the bottle that this has High Pigment loading, durable, water resistant and excellent adhesion. Anyway, it has been in my tank for a month already and thank god so far no casualty.

California to cause cancer by means of inhalation. Contains Cadmium pigment.

Actually, Cadmium is part of the ingredient, that is what gives the paint its red colouring. Different paint will have different ingredients, mostly it it red and metallic paint like silver or gold that contains toxic metals. But don't worry, I don't think it is lethal unless you drink the whole bottle hahaha.

Art materials and fish don't mix well, let's just say I found out from personal experience a long time ago hahaha.

alot of pigments from paint are used from transition elements, coz alot of these elements will give colour in different oxidation states. Point is, alot of these elements are poisonous, like nickel and chromium. Best to not use it, but if u say this has been 1 month already, then i guess it should be safe
