what does mangrove do? any usefulness about this? if yes got picture/link for me to take a look? intertested

let me help thairun answer tt.. if takes in some of the no2 and no3.. its use is natural filter.. helps 'clean' ur water.... hope it helps..

Thnx bro, but you forget about PO4. It also export phosphate in the water colum. I recommend to grow alot of mangrove with a ratio of 10stock for 1ft dispaly tank. Pics attached on how I grow them on stryofoam.

Bro, just to check, does this need lighting? Or do i just need to leave it in the sump?

My phosphate level is kinda shooting thru the roof, am implementing everything i can find to lower it.

Scrubber, Sorb4, (hoping to try mangrove too).

It need light of course at least at range of 5600k-9w. IMHE my PO4 go very low at 0.1 to 0.05 when i deployed this mangrove beside other algae. But If u want go further to zero PO4 I recommend Kalk reactor with the complement of good working skimmer. It will definitely strip PO4 u have in ur water column to 0.005 or 0.001 as I experience now. Fyi there are 2 types of PO4 produced in our marine environment. Pls read about Kalk reactor for more information.
