fire goby keep dying!!!

my fire gobies keep dying on me..... dunno why....... thought they were one of the easiest fishes to keep??? the rest of my fishes r okie.... and they were of a harder category to keep....... like tangs, mandarins, blennies....... anyone can help????

ammonia 0

nitrite 0

nitrate about 40

They normally will have theirown hiding place...some called it a bolthole.

Sometimes they will be attcked by crabs or bristle worm when they're in these holes... and if they are stucked there, they might be killed by the scavengers.

That's what i read and i believe it's true.

my fire gobies hide under a piece of LR I place on the sandbed.

lately there were 2 crabs trying to share the hole and force the gobies to stay out even at night when they usualluy hide... so I killed the crab :evil: and now they are happy gobies again :D

Previously I have 3 other fire gobies which could not find a good hiding place and died within 2-3 days.

Once they settle in, they have no other complains

The ugly ducking I got from reb*** has grown into a swan :lol:
