fire goby keep dying!!!

my fire gobies keep dying on me..... dunno why....... thought they were one of the easiest fishes to keep??? the rest of my fishes r okie.... and they were of a harder category to keep....... like tangs, mandarins, blennies....... anyone can help????

how big ur tank?

seems like a lot of fishes which constitute to ur nitrate high....

overstocking will cause stress n fight between fishes

Hey nitrate is abit on the high side, you might want to change your water......... Anyway fire gobies are very tmid fish and reason for their deatrh might be the more fierce and territorial tangs

They normally will have theirown hiding place...some called it a bolthole.

Sometimes they will be attcked by crabs or bristle worm when they're in these holes... and if they are stucked there, they might be killed by the scavengers.

That's what i read and i believe it's true.

my fire gobies hide under a piece of LR I place on the sandbed.

lately there were 2 crabs trying to share the hole and force the gobies to stay out even at night when they usualluy hide... so I killed the crab and now they are happy gobies again

Previously I have 3 other fire gobies which could not find a good hiding place and died within 2-3 days.

Once they settle in, they have no other complains
