Thanks for your kind input ! I am using a 2.5x2x2 feet tank + 2x2x1.5 sump. DSB is 3" and LR about 50kgs. Skimmer I use is a Reef Octopus 110 suitable up to 3feet.

Can you kind advise how can I check if my skimmer can handle the o3 ? Your feedback is highly appreciated :thanks:

me not a reef octo user, maybe you can check online or any kind soul here can advice. In general, i think you need either a c25 or c50 will do. 100 and above seems overkill for you and ozone is one which you dont want to go for overkill setup unless you got intention to upgrade.....all the best for your search. : )

HI Bro

O3 may be good to improve certain parameters of your tank. My 2 cents of certain thing you may wish to take note:

1. Ensure all tubes used are O3 friendly else they will "melt" off.

2. To be safe, the output of your skimmer (water) should pass thru carbon to absorb residue O3.

3. Have a Redox controller to ensure not overdose O3.

4. Residue O3 will escape out from your Skimmer collection cup and thus need to have carbon "difuser" on the air vent on the skimmer collection cup. It is a simple small container that contains carbon (a bit of cotton) to filter the residue O3 from the Skimmer collection cup.

5. Bear in mind that O3 is harmful to human too.

If you need the carbon difuser, let me know the ait vent size of your reef optopus skimmer (in terms of mm). I have 2 such carbon difuser that you can have it for free. I will not be using O3 anyway.

Thought of using O3 couple of years ago and drop this idea after much reading. Too much work for me to cope and I am not ready.

Do not mistaken that O3 is no good. Just use it with care and am sure it will help in the water parameters.

I choose to use double skimmers to increase oxygen for my tank instead. Of cos over skimming could also have it pros and cons.

wow...bro jyoon is the best...hehehe.....you can do a search for a proper setup of O3, to add on you need dry air, a pump and carbon as what bro jyoon have adviced. Some will advice to on it 24 hrs and some said no.....the tube can be o3 compatible but you need to check the manufacturer advise whether the equipment can support....you will be surprised to see how it can melt your plastic....lol.....can also cut short process but subject to you own risk.....hehehe.

 Thanks again to both bros !!! Looks like more complex than I thought :o .........will seriously consider your input.

The opening diameter of my water outlet (reef octopus skimmer) is 1.5".

With kind regards.

Martin
