My ph value is 8.8 and I know that we can add buffer solution. However I dont know if it is for ph value that is high or is it for ph value that is low?

In the first place, what did you do to get the ph to 8.8? It is quite unlikely PH will go so high if you did nothing to the tank, hence, my suggestion is try another brand test kit.

Ph should be around 8.4 i think. 8.8 is abit too high. do a slight water change to bring it down, and then get a new test kit.

might be a sign of ammonia present in your water.
