wanted to do an update after a month of "aggressive acquisition", and a major re-scaping of the LRs. However, it is still quite far away from my vision of my WALL MOUNT TANK.....

BUT... no pic uploading function yet due to the upgrading of SRC forum... so be patient....

I also have a 4ft wall mounted aquarium from Aquatic Style. When I first installed it five years ago, I also went for the marine setup but I later converted it to a fresh water setup as I could never figure out how to control the water parameters in the tank...

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

U can seek help frm bro mit liao!

Yup... :eyebrow: Waiting to see if he will be successful in maintaining his wall mounted aquarium before I decide if I want to switch back to a marine setup again... :whistle

But my tank dimensions seems to be smaller than his....

Hi Peter, wat's your tank dimensions? IMHO I would say, if u keep a rigid regimental routine in maintenance, should be feasible. But of course, restricted to only soft corals like zoas and mushrooms. Anything more, you would need to depend on your patience, discipline, perseverance and continuous modification of the tank. My very first modification was lighting.... at least with LEDs technology, it gives you a ray of hope!!! Of course, gotta read more to gain more knowledge on what can be kept within our tight restricted limitations....

If you find my thread useful, keep monitoring. I m most willing to share what I know.

Although, they are all frags.. hope they will multiply and cover more of the LR.... hoping to create a Bukit Zoas on the left side of the tank while the right side are the Land of Mushies..... :)

FTS: The "Ham" also no long on the LR, have to migrate to the sandbed to give way for more Zoas.... haha.

post-14772-1252901834_thumb.jpg

Land of Mushies.... my golden mushroom decided to run away and settle at a LR at the Bukit Zoas... not going to disturb it though.

My tank is 4ft x 10" (h) x 4" (w)...Can hardly find any pump that can fit inside such a small area...

What equipment are you using in your tank? Will be monitoring your thread to see how it goes... :eyebrow:

Wow, yours is slightly smaller than mine, although not much. My tank's height is 15" while the width is 4.72". Actually your height might be beneficial to you cos it means the corals can get better lighting with a shallower height. :) Change the stock T5 to others like ATI or Coral Life Super Blue....etc and do a strip of 60 LEDs from SL Towers, shld be enough space for this dimension.

Well, definitely your tank can fit in a Hydor Nano wave maker for a start, also the return pipe end from your top up chamber can definitely fit in a Hydor wave deflector (i got one spare, if u want can sell to you cheap cheap). So at least there are more water movement in the tank and less chance of diatoms forming up.

Ok, now I realise that my tank is different from your Atlantis tank...

The wall mounted tank I got from Aquatic Style is really only a 4ft x 10" x 4" tank without any compartments at all. The distance from the sides of my tank to the mounting panel is ard 1cm on either side. So for wave makers, I don't think a magnetic mount type will work for me...

huh... wat about the filtration system?... if not, how to maintain the water.

If u see my tank layout, my wave maker is in the display tank with the other magnetic side within the filter compartment together with the filtering media....

The top up chamber has a return pump to pump the filtered water back to Display Tank and tats where i fixed my Wave Deflector to the pipe's end.

I know Atla**** patented this design and hence other tank maker can be sued if copied exactly the same. So probably, Aquatic S**** may not be exactly the same. But if yours doesn't have at least the filter chamber, then I must say yours is even tougher!!!! But what is your filtration system then??? I'm really curious to know....

Well when they installed for me 5 years ago they were using an under gravel filter but basically due to the small size of the pump, it was basically just for show. I stuggled with the tank for a year plus and finally threw in the towel and converted it to a fresh water set up instead. Now I'm revisiting the idea of converting it back to a marine setup...

Anyway, how do you get the water temperature to ard 27 deg?

I was looking at this product for my nano tank (2x1x1) as it is difficult to bring down the temp to 27 deg using ice cubes alone...

http://www.marinedepot.com/chillers_coolwo...chiller-ap.html

Haven't seen any shop in Singapore selling this though.

Bro, its an Ice Probe. can get from Reef Depot, go to http://www.reefdepot.com.sg/

:)

alas this device is still too huge for my wall mount tank too.... but Atl***** has a new version of Wall mount with 2 Ice Probe connected to it!!!! But cost a bomb....

Your wall mount, unless u clear all water and LS, and partitioned the tank out for filtration system, if not, really cannot imagine how to keep any LS liao... :)

I know about the ice probe from Reef Depot but it isn't cheap @ $249 and also it is not an integrated unit unlike the one in the link. If I use that probe from Reef Depot, I will have to DIY a holder for it before I can place it in my nano tank.

Ah I see.... well.... I tried to do a calculation to ship in from US and discover that it is only a saving of only around $15-$20 (depend on ex change rate).... so, might as well just get from reef depot considering the time for the shipment to arrive. However, like wat you say, need to DIY a holder.... :(

But do note, your ambient/surrounding temperature will also affect the performance of the ice probe......

Hmmm...I think the savings is a lot more than just $15- $20. I found a website selling including postage to Singapore @ USD 120. So probably will be ard SGD 170 thereabouts if you charge to your credit card. Savings about $70 odd. My shipments from US typically arrive in ard 2 weeks if they ship by normal air post. If by Fedex/UPS/TNT roughly ard 4-6 working days.

Doing the DIY holder isn't that difficult. You can do it using thin styrofoam boards. If you lazy, can use those take away styrofoam containers or even Myojo/Koka instant noodles styrofoam bowls.

wow, so cheap? I found some a website not too long ago selling at ard US$100 but they dun include postage and they don't do international postage. Anyway, my tank can't fit it. No point for me to get liao.

If you have another nano tank, good for it I suppose. :)

hey bros, do bear in mind that local sets come with warrrenty. and some lfs here really provide 100% warrenty service. eqpts like chiller/return pumps are very important to the tank.

if it takes weeks to replace or repair than its gonna cost u dearly.

the amt of livestock is not worth it.
