Fish Only Tank

I intend to set up a fish only tank with no live rocks and no sand for easy maintenance. To ensure fishes are not stressed, I will put in artificial corals and rocks as hiding places for them. Do you think it will work? Any bros have such a setup and can show pics? All advice are welcome.

bro, for easy maintenance, no sand is fine. Why no live rocks? I will suggest for fish only, you can setup FOWLR tank....meaning FISH ONLY WITH LIVE ROCK. Yes, you do need cave or crevices for fishes to hide so as to destress them. However, do plan your fish list and sequence in introducing into your tank. From most gentle to most agressive. Damsel is a no no .....lol ....as it is very welcome for newbie in marine. Hope my limited knowledge help. : )

Tank : 4 X 2 X 2 with low iron front panel and external overflow

Skimmer : BK SM200 with waste collector

Return Pumps : Red Dragon 6m3 and Ehiem 1262

FR : 2 X Deltec 509 & powered by AB2000

Nitrate Filter : Deltec NF 509 and tee off from AB2000

Calcium R'tor : Deltec PF 501 with RM secondary chamber

Kalkwasser R'tor : Deltec KM500

Chiller : Pansonic 1 HP Compressor with 20m titanium Coil

Wave Makers : 4 X Tunze 6055 with 7096 & Vortec MP40w

Controller : GHL Profilux

Lighting : ATI Powermodule 10 or 8 tubes

Water Top-up : Water Top-Up tank powered by Tunze Osmolator

External Monitor : American Pinpoint pH and Temp. Monitor for main tank and GHL Profilux Controller to measure temp, pH, Redox

Ozonizer : Sander C50

UV : Corallife 6x

Thanks bro sol077. Reason why I dun want to put LRs is because they will cause unsightly dust and debris on the bottom of the tank. I want a simple and neat tank like LFs tanks in which they put fishes for sale. I like to see fishes swimming in tank but dun fancy live rocks with no corals.

bro, you can boost the rock with cal and mg to let them entrusted with coraline algae...then it will be nice. If your tank just got artificial rock with no sand, the rock structure may be too light....liverock does have it benefit....even if you use artificial rock, you will still see dust and debris and you still need to siphon out the waste or get wave maker to help you do the job. Ya, me more into fishes.....currently using mixed live and artificial and you need to create opening for them to swim and roam around. I suggest you keep some hardy coral like mushroom.....it will bring out live in your tank and your fishes will also like it....hehehe.

bro, for coraline algae, it need cal, mg and sufficient lighting.....it beautify the rocks but when it overgrown...it might be a pain to remove them.....lol

I would recommend getting live rocks and fishes. no sand and have a reasonable strong current going so that all dirt will be blown away from the base. Can use a brush to sweep all all dirt or a suction to suck up all dirt. easy that way. live rocks is the best way to stablise a tank.

Thanks bro. I have been thinking about putting a few small LRs. Saw some red algae encrusted ones at Lfs but know with normal lightiings they will soon turned whit :(
