i dun think it matters whether the fishes r disturbed. just dump the sand in. =)

just take care not to bury them alive =)

u may wanna turn off the filter or any powerheads when u do so.

less messy.

4 inch of sand will be more efficent DSB than your current 2 inches.

u may wanna change the non-LR in your tank for LR tho.

The sand bed now is about 2 inches. And 4 inches will look quite horrible I think. But how can I add in more sand without disturbing the fishes?

You can buy a big PVC pipe, then pour into the pipe slowly. Minimum disturb will be created. Turn off all filter and powerheads, when pouring.

My seahorse is now feeding on live brine shrimp babies (hatched from eggs). Seems like he prefers to be a hunter (so doesn't quite take frozen food now).

The rest of the fishes are also doing well... except for one clown fish with white spots.
