anyway, i used the dosing pump to feed the DI unit and then try to adjust the flow rate by putting a flow valve ....end up the water seep out of the canister slowly..even though very much tightened...

so much pressure from a 5w peristaltic pump.....no wonder can pump up to 10feet....5watt pump 10feet....

so i have decided to tee-off from a pump when my calcium reactor comes

anyway, tested the water from the DI canister, nitrates 0, phosphates 0.....but......dunno how long it can last....wait a few buckets have to change canister, then this DI unit not cost effective liao...

I was told by a couple of experts to tee it off my main pump or the chiller pump....to create pressure as well, if not reactor closeup pressurised liaoz...the weak pumps bo strength ;)

ok...here are the pumps i can choose to tee-off...

1) eheim 1262 main return 3500l/hr

2) sicce extrema chiller pump 2500l/hr

3) sicce extrema clam tank pump 2500l/hr

4) mebner p6000 skimmer pump 6000l/hr

5) eheim 1250 UV/skimmer pump 1200l/hr

all flow rates are assuming zero head loss...

which one will you tee-off from?

I would choose either 3500l/h or 2500l/h. 6000l/hr would be an overkill. Imagine the pressure in the Ca reactor..and at the t-off joint.....esp if your drip rate slow.

1200l/h seems too slow. A tee off from it would lead to a great fall in efficiency.

I'm using a T-off from a 2700l/hr pump..works for me.. effluent around 54dKH and calcium around 710ppm.

Think the main consideration is safety here.

Always something more important than fish.
