hi all, I've been keeping LPS and Softies for about 1.5yrs from now.... thinking to geting some SPS frag to try in my new 2'x2'x2' cube tank setup, my spec as bellow:

1)tank: 2' tall with 6" DSB, minus off 2" water level... so the actual depth of my water is ard 16"

2)lighting: 2x 6500K 36W PL + 2x 8000K 36PL + 2x 36W actinic, placing 6" above water level for main tank, another 36WPL with 6500K for sump/refugium)

3) Reflector: normal 4' reflector, cut to half, and flaten the side to joint both reflactor side to side.

4) LR- ard 40KG of LR

5) Temp: 27deg cel ~28 deg Cel, usiong fan cooling method

6) placement (planing):

-bottom with LPS like brain & "prata" + softies like polyps +

mushroom + leather

-middle with mostly LPS like hammer, octopus, touch, fox, bubble

-top with corcea clams + some SPS

7) Protein skimmer- Macro AFS001 protein skimmer with built in pump, design for 100gallon tank

8) sump/regium: using 18"x18"x18" sump with 5 compartment, 1st compartment for water to fall down from main tank, then go to skimmer, then go to compartment with DSB of 5" and planing to keep some macroalgeain the same compartment, then go to compartment with chemical filtration system. the last compartment is for placement of return pump.

9) water changing: once every 3~6months (depends on the water parameter) usually maintaining the nitrate below 40ppm (my previous setup)

my tank is still under cyclying proccess, 2nd wk currently, used some shortcut to reduce the cyclying proccess where some sand fom previous tank was used in the current tank + pre prepared (4 weeks) some natural ammonia meterial (u dun wanna know wats that) before the cabinet arrived. my ammonia is 0 now and my nitrite level is at ard 5ppm.... nitrate ard 20ppm, if i;m not wrong, the tank should be fully cycled by end next week. however, I'll keep cycling for another 3 weeks to make the DSB slightly mre matured or else my filtration system will solely depends on my LR + skimmer.

Looks like you have all the basic equipment down.

I would advise you to wait at least 3 more months before trying sps. Even then, try out on the plate montis first. They are less demanding of light conditions. But they still need very good water quality.
