Newbie here,

i juz setup a 60 L reef nano with juz live rock, live sand, wave maker for current and a protein skimmer, will such system work? or do i need to add a cannister filter?

My tank fully cycled but haven't add any fish yet, i intend to add a clown, cardinal, yellow fin damsel, and a goby, is these fishes ok?

Thanks for everyone help!

U dun have to on ur skimmer/lights when u are cycling. Go get ur testkits (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) to see if ur ammonia is detetable. Throw in a market prawn and let it rot to kick the off cycling. Cannister is not really recommended in marine environment. Ppl usually use sump.

pico pico pico.

Noted. Anyway all reading zero. For a nano tank like mine dun have the luxury to have a sump, so if i dun add any other filteration like what u mention a sump, my existing setup is it ok?

Hi curahee,

You'd want to have some kind of mechanical filtration to remove larger size detritus. For your size tank, maybe u can consider a HOB filter.
