okay now question time.

1) any way to straighten out the sand? I was thinking of getting one of those, wipe window rubber blades with extention, and just "wiping" it across the sand surface to make it flat out and level. hehz. intend to make the sand thicker at the back and thinner in the front of the main tank. :P

2) SeaChem PhosGuard. I bought a bottle to try it out. Now where to I place it? Submerged it in water, or let it sit ontop of the egg crate?

Many ways to go about it, for me, I use a normal plastic ruler

Place it in a high flow area, somewhere in your tower. Phosguard does not really work for me. Maybe you can try contraphos or rowaphos.

Hi Terrance,

try to add some water so the water level in yr sump last compartment will reach ard 7". Then yr skimmer water level will be higher.

Wei :)

eh HOW COME YOU HERE I thought you doing duty? haha

...

now now. I added water to raise the water level already. I think its at 7inch. hmm. did a rough measurement just now.

trying out some cheap form of phosphate removal. will get rowaphos when I have more money. hahaha

 Now you know why I am looking for a god mum

as for highflow. hmm. can I place it below my carbon filter? as in, directly below it? so much so that the carbon filter bag rests ontop of the phosguard?

I normally placed the carbon last of the order. As long there is ample flow through the media, it should be ok.

okay. come come let me explain. ahem.

reefer_guy

okay the center beam is back in there. it can be removed, but I just decided to hammer it in. the reason why it wasn't in the other time was because it was already 12am when the tank was completed. as in pipes and water inside. so hammering the wooden beam in there will probably warrant a police arrest for causing noise pollution. :P I hammered it in recently. no worries. and there already is a four inch sand bed inside the main tank. four to five inches, I forgot. silly me added in too much sand that time. so yah. no choice. left it there instead. hehz.

bwilly.

the sump is calculated to have more than enough space to allow for backflow should the pumps fail. I think there should be two to four inches worth of allowance should any of the pumps fail. I think lah. forgot how much already. I can go try later. hehz. now my tank is above the recommended water level and if I turn of the pumps, I still have allowance of half an inch. calculated straight down to the milimeter already. that one must count my friend. :P

DA.

she already sponsor me money for liverocks already. cannot be so cruel to her lah. :P

Blenny.

intend to use T5 lights. Edmund will be delivering it to me later. woohoo.
