SRC Member ervine Posted November 28, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 28, 2003 Hi guys, Regarding the ballast and ignitor for MHs, can I house them in one of those black hobby boxes from Sim Lim? What I'm afraid of is that the heat will melt the plastic box... Also, where can I find those steel cables I see people using to hang their MH lights from the ceiling, and if they are metallic do I need to rust protect them? Thanks a bunch!! SRC Member reefer guy Posted November 28, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 28, 2003 u need a gear box to house ur ballasts, capacitors, ignitors.... u can get them in electrical shops in kelantan lane
SRC Member CalciumReef Posted November 28, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 28, 2003 Gear boxes are normally plastic ones....You can consider using a big one and then drill holes to let the heat escape...however it will look bulky...the only hot thing is the ballast anyway....
