Hi all, I've recently ventured into keeping seahorse and has found a supply of live mysis shrimp. However, the problem is that the minimum amount sold is too much for my collection. I will be going to purchase them on every weekend and if you are interested in sharing, you can sms me at 9238 3578. We can arrange to meet up at Bedok area for distribution. :thanks:

Thanks for all the interest. As one of the bro pointed out to me the ones that I found is not mysis but red shrimp. I am researching on them and will update here if I managed to find any info. Just to clarify some doubts, I am not earning from this sharing as what some have thought. I just do not want these feeders go to waste as they are too much for my feeding purpose therefore I am selling a portion of them for a small token. Thanks.

Hi bro, I'm staying in Woodlands, Admiralty area. If you want, I can get more when I go and redistribute. The idea of taking turns to go there is good. Anyway, I'll most probably be heading down on this Sat afternoon. If any of you want, just put down your name on this thread and we can do a mass order :D

hi all.

i believe the live "mysis" shrimps that are available through most shops are actually local krills.

they're light pinkish in some bodyparts, have trailing whiskers and constantly swimming in mid water.

they can be found fresh(aka dead) @seafood section of wet market for ard a dollar per 100g.

i used to train my wild reidis to feed on frozen mysis from those, since live ones can be caught & fed and then slowly adjust the ponies to feed on fresh shrimps through time.

ah the krills can be caught at certain times of the tide and spots @lck terminal. =)

sometimes if ur lucky, u can find smaller shrimps with the krills that are clear in colour, more active in hiding, and having a thinner crooked tail section. i believe they're the actual mysis shrimps we all are searching for.

i have no pics on hand but the crooked backside are very significant.

go to sentosa underwater world, the sea dragon tank and look closer on what they had been feeding!

wonder where the stock comes from...

The mysis that they sell at the market are relished by seahorses like H. Reidi. Much more filling than Hikari mysis. Can be bought at Geylang Serai market.
