hello people,

I'm currently using a dymax 2500l/h return pump in my sump...but it's producing alot of humming sound. Was wondering if anyone can recommend me a return pump which is totally quiet or some remedy for the humming sound?? coz my tank is just 1 foot away from my bed. very irritating!!!..heh.. thanks in advance!!!

Go and get a 5cm thick kind of blue filter sponge, those used in koi pond, and sit the pump on top. There aren't any pump that is total silent unless they are small tiny powerless pump. The humming is cause by the vibration of the pump. Its also depends on what your sump sit on which cause the humming to increase.

Just add a small piece enough for your pump to sit firmly on top. Don't think such a small piece of sponge will becom a nitrate factory. If you doubt, wash it every mth. ... :P
