Yup, my hermit crab will also eat them if there are no other food available, but in the event you need chaeto, on and off, I sell them. Times are bad, must sell them to sustain the hobby.

Thanks bro. Will let you know if I need more, which could be soon, looking at the rate the chaeto is disappearing. Come to think about, it's actually quite ex to feed chaeto to fish! I think pellet food is still the way to go! Haha!

Try feeding it with lettuce, to distract it from your Chaeto a little! My tangs had been feeding on whatever greens that I can get from my fridge, save alot on fish feeds.

If you're the one eating, perhaps it's a good idea! :P

No, just make sure you soak it in fresh water and washed thoroughly, to rid them of any pesticides. My Tangs favourites are lettuce, Kang-Kong stems, leafy cabbage. Anyway, they take almost any veggies except parsley! :D

just like me! i don't like parsley too! haha!

btw, latest update is chaeto almost gone liao. these guys are like hungry ghosts! whole day looking for food!

Put your cheato in the sump with lights. Every a few weeks when your cheato clump gets bigger, you can reward your tangs with some of it.

Cheato do not need 24 hr light. I keep mine with 8 hrs niah.

Anyway, cheato is normally not used for food. It is used to export nutrients.

So if you want to Export nutrients, why let the fish eat them ???

Ps: No harm for them to eat but do consider the main purpose of it.

:)
