Caninster Filter

Hi,

I have a EHEIM 2028 caninster which i have not operate for

3 months. Will the bac died off?. I intent to use the filter again

i will clean wash or replace the sponge filter, wat about the bac

filter media, if wash it the bac will be wash away, or just add

some bacteria. Please advise

I think the bac would have died if left in stale water for 3 mths. Better wash everything clean and consider it a new start-up. Another tip I learned is: if you're storing your canister or any other powerheads, keep the magnetic impeller dry and separately (like in a ziploc bag) or else the impeller tends to rust.
