SRC Member beaver Posted October 11, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted October 11, 2008 Hi Reefers, I witness a weird scene yesterday night (actually it was 2am) when I switch the room light and peeped into my tank. My very alive twinspot goby a few hours ago, was dead and almost highly disintegrated next to my big (30cm) deresa clam. Upon closer scrunity, I see a worm-like tube coming out of the side of the clam, going directly to the carcass of the fish and seemed to be sucking its juice It was about 15cm long, reddish-brown, and seemed to have some fine "bristles" by both sides. Was it a bristle worm? It retracted lightning fast but came out slowly again to suck on the dead fish...I don't believe it is part of the clam but seemed to be outside on the shell. As it was dark I can really see clearly. Any advice? Will it harm my clam?
