Hi all,

I am new to Marine but am very keen in setting a 1ft cube tank. So I would like some advise with regards to some lighting suggestion. I am looking at setting up a nano reef tank, so I need good lighting for the corals. I find that led lighting seems perfect for my 1ft cube tank. I have read through many pages of this thread. I am wondering if setting up 1 strips of 3 led light of cool white and 1 strips of 3 royal blue enough for corals growing in my tank size? Many thanks!

Just checking with the bros here, besides ordering the CREE LED and buckpucks online, does any of the shops in SLT sell such items? I saw the shop at SLT basement (Continental) selling high power LED's but the auntie there tell me they are from China. They even have a 10W LED.

I get the Recom drivers (buckpuck) locally. For LEDs, u can check with Sherman.

Hi All,

I am now using this LED unit I DIY in 2009 .

At that time only we using on/off control by timer.

Today after 5 years. I going to add a LED controller to control this LED light.

The controller allow me to on/off the leds at the intensity I want at any time of the day.

So sunrise/sunset and moon light is available for all DIYer at an affortable cost.

Watch out for the upgrade .

Basically you key in the time of the day and the light intensity of each array you desire.

I using 4 arrays now.

Array 1: White /warm White,red(Total 12 LEDs)

Array 2: Royal Blue(Total 36 LEDs)

Array 3: White, warm White,Voilet,RoyalBlue,UV(Total 18 LEDs)

Array 4: Sky blue strip
