Round pcb

Advantages – Can mount lens flatly onto the pcb. Wires can be connected without interfering with the lens holder. Better heat dissipation. Easier for mounting.

Disadvantages – Higher price. Higher than star pcb

Star PCB

Advantages – Cheaper compared to the round pcb.

Disadvantages – Cannot sit flatly on the led and pcb when wires are soldered. Need to cut slot on the base of the lens holder in order to fit nicely. Heat dissipation not as good compared to bigger pcb. More difficult to mount compared to round pcb.

Mount your star LED on the aluminium plate or heat sink at 3 inch interval (both vertical and horizontal)if your tank is less than 20 inch high.

And 2 to 2.5 inch interval if your tank is more than 20 inch high

After mounting all the LED with M2 screws(2 screws per star).(Remember to apply a thin layer of thermal cream or thermal tape before mounting the star) Divide your led into smaller rung of 5 to 9 leds per rung and wire them correctly.

Remember to be careful with the + ve and - ve terminal mark on the star

Next you connect your LED rung positive cable to the positive terminal of the constant current driver

and the negative cable of the LED rung to the negative terminal of the constant current driver

A rectifier is not a constant current circuit. It cannot ensure the current is stable under any voltage surge

Yes.This is my own design.There are smaller one for smaller lite unit.

And there is another design for those who request me to modify their

light.

Mount your star LED on the aluminium plate or heat sink at 3 inch interval (both vertical and horizontal)if your tank is less than 20 inch high.

And 2 to 2.5 inch interval if your tank is more than 20 inch high

I noticed that you connect the LED in series? Is there any reason for doing this or is parallel better?
