Need for a skimmer in a 24G?

Hi guys, I am considering getting a 24G JBJ Cube to be placed in the office. I was advised by a LFS that there is no need for a skimmer for such a small tank, just regular 2 weekly change of water is enough. What do you think? I don't mind spending more on a skimmer though..Planning on keeping some corals and maybe 6-7 fish...but I fear I may eventually overpopulate. My office temp ranges from 20-25C.Thanks for your advice!

If you change water on weekly basis,it shouldnt be a problem. However, if you wish to play safe and include a skimmer, it will help to meet unforeseen situations. Just my 2 cents worth of opinion. : )

Tank : 4 X 2 X 2 with low iron front panel and external overflow

Skimmer : BK SM200 with waste collector

Return Pumps : Red Dragon 6m3 and Ehiem 1262

FR : 2 X Deltec 509 & powered by AB2000

Nitrate Filter : Deltec NF 509 and tee off from AB2000

Calcium R'tor : Deltec PF 501 with RM secondary chamber

Kalkwasser R'tor : Deltec KM500

Chiller : Pansonic 1 HP Compressor with 20m titanium Coil

Wave Makers : 4 X Tunze 6055 with 7096 & Vortec MP40w

Controller : GHL Profilux

Lighting : ATI Powermodule 10 or 8 tubes

Water Top-up : Water Top-Up tank powered by Tunze Osmolator

External Monitor : American Pinpoint pH and Temp. Monitor for main tank and GHL Profilux Controller to measure temp, pH, Redox

Ozonizer : Sander C50

UV : Corallife 6x

Algae Scrubbler

Thanks. Actually I am deciding between the 24G JBJ and 28HQI, but am concerned about temp, as sometimes the office aircon get switched off.

I know what you mean. The building property folks sometimes shutdown the main aircon compressor over weekends. :pinch: Tank temp reading hits 31C on Monday morning

Find a way to monitor your office temperature during non-office hours over a few weeks. Then you can decide if a chiller is required.
