SRC Member kaykay Posted October 10, 2008 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 10, 2008 Installation will c/w a pair of 12" x 12", strong, white powder coated shelf brackets. Also included is a 5/8" thick plywood board (yet uncut to fit whatever space constraints you may have). I have also bought non-slip discs to stabilise the chiller in operation. All these are provided foc. I have actually planned to fix it to face the window, but financial difficulty forced me to rethink reef, and instead keep fowlr for the time being. The items above are bought before i decided not to install the chiller. Do drop by for a viewing. You surely will not be disappointed. I am at Bedok Reservoir. Actually if you're concerned with the elect $, this is a good choice for it consumes little energy.. Much much lower elect than the China-made ones, for the same cooling capacity. I mean where will u be placing the chiller? My tank is just next to a window. I mount the chiller with a pair of shelf brackets and plywood board. This shelf is window ledge height level. The warm air is blown outwards the window. Above the chiller I place a pc of mounting board to block the rain. Need to see your floor plan before I can recommend a good position for you. Cheers

How about the hose and wires? Will it be unsightly?
SRC Member kaykay Posted October 16, 2008 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 16, 2008 Erm no lah, the chiller still inside the house. The chiller is flushed to the windows only. I am not confident as yet to mount it outside of house DIY style.. no doubt i can find aircon men to install external brackets just like for aircons.. As the window is just next to the tank (about 1 metre), the hose exposed to sight is not too bad. Anyway the hose runs behind my skimmer. I keep it as neat as possible. See attached pic, you can imagine the chiller at window height and hoses behind the skimmer. I don't have a pic with the chiller mounted thugh.. But it will b a little funny to see the chiller on the window ledge and my wife will kill me for that . Thanks for the detailed explanation anyway.
