Bro... Ever considered acylic for your refugium? Light weight and lower risk of it presenting too much weight to your bottom tank?

Where would the light of the refugium be placed?

that under consideration. light space is very tight!

there is a possibility of such. finger cross that never happen. there's a bracing across the sump as a support to the refugium as well.

the bracing is too thin to support such a heavy load on top. since u havent start ur tank, i strongly suggest u to redesign the way to hold the refugium tank. this is too big risk to mi, sump tank crack may cost tank crash if u happen to be out when it happen. so why let there be a possibility when u spend so much time on the tank n planning only to crash it in the end?

but of cos it still up to u to take the risk. as for mi, i rather give up the refugium tank than to risk crashing my own tank...

juz my 1c view :paiseh:

I agree with the guys' thoughts.

You should never take such a risk after putting so much effort into it.

and

You should not take water dynamics lightly. A simple tank with a small amount of water may seem light but in actual fact could be over 5kg in weight! And adding to water motions which results in sway pressure brought about by currents and flow rates, your eurobrace will soon be compromised.

Just my 2 cents worth. (:

been running freshwater in the new tank and sump and the wool (for mechanical filtration) turns black? could it be from the black silicon?

LOL.... from the 1st glance i thought you put a cat inside the filter....
