how much this Ozonizer cost you?

Need to replace the silica gel one right?

the set cost me about $1,050.00 with a built in ORP controller and probe but now the price has dropped to $950.00 and it comes with an Air-Dryer which is important for the ozonizer set.... :D The slica gel is separate and you can get it cheap at camera shops. With the humidity in Singapore , the ozonizer needs dry air to function properly and last a lifetime... :D

Acanthurus pyroferus,

Thats an expensive gadget....

I get dizzy when I run ozone generator. Maybe it's cleaning my lung?? Have done almost the same stupid thing as AT. Took the sander ozone generator apart and broken almost everything in there .. :P

Hi Hon,

Yes...it is an expensive gadjet and one that I've always wanted to get... :D Actually one doesn't have to take it apart when using an air-dryer attached which is important for long term usage of the machine. It's definitely better then a UV setrilizer and my NO3 is always kept in check. The emittance of ozone in the air is when there is no control of the milli volts discharged...because anything above 50mv will give you an odour which gives you that nausea feeling.. :P true blue believer of this product...two thumbs up! Improves your skimmers performance as well... :D

the air-dryer's purpose it to maximise the efficiency of the O3 generator rather than prolong it's life-span.

I supposed those units for reef use are using high voltage to generate the O3.

maximizes the performance of your protien skimmer and prolong the lifespan of your ozonizer because the high humidity here in Singapore will eventually degrade the performance of your unit due to dust and grime that is present in the air as well. Therefore ozonizer's need to run on dry clean air. So you protect your machine from damaging quickly.... :D

If the purpose of the air-dryer unit is to clean up the air then you will see carbon being used in the unit.

The presence of water vapour will reduce the efficiency of the unit as it is considered and interference component to O3 generators.

If the O3 generator uses high voltage to generate O3 then the moisture will reduce the dielectric voltage so the O3 generator is less efficient.

If the O3 generator uses UV to generate O3 then the moisture will absorb the UV which also reduce the efficiency of the O3 generator.

  • 2 months later...

Can I use the ozonizer with any protien skimmer? How to tell if a protien skimmer is ozone-safe as I can hardly find any info printed on the product info? Don't want to destroy an expensive skimmer. Also, where to buy ozone-safe tubing, etc? Some LFS I asked are of no help. Tks
