I am very tempted to setup a divider with marine tank as shown below from Atlantic Lifestyle. But after reading reviews on this forum, i think i better off look for a more realistic solution rather than "just top-up water"....

so bros, any other feasible alternatives? (of course, those with minimal maintenance are preferred....) thanks.

You probably can't get such a sleek design if you want to have a "workable" marine tank. You will need a sump tank at the bottom level for all your essential equipments and proper lightings on top of the main tank for corals to thrive. Do read up members' tank forum for some ideas. After that, you may contact the sponsors in this forum for recommendations and proposals as I believe some the sponsors here are the members' tank makers.

for the sump tank, i think i can sacrifice the bottom part to be a cabinet to contain all the things, the problem is more about the width, ideally it should not be more than 20cm wide since i want it to serve as a partition divider, will it be possible?

New house, new ideas. Just like me 3 yrs ago...haha...

Allow me to give u my thoughts.

If you want to have a marine tank as part of yr partition, it will cartainly look aesthetic.

But what happens one day, u decide not to continue this hobby, are you going to dismantle this partition or feature wall?

Secondly, you have to maintain yr marine condition really well...otherwise, algae will grow like crazy, fish mati and all sort of problems will come eventually, that will make yr this deco look unpresentable and u will feel frustrated.

My suggestion is, if you want to go into this hobby, set it up separately with a cabinet, so that if you want to give up, you just have to dismantle this portion w/o affecting the rest of yr furniture and deco.

But are there any good shops selling really workable/specialist setups? btw, how about getting them to do the maintenance as well (what will the bill size like?)?

btw, i will be staying at bukit panjang, next to BPP. If any bro live nearby, maybe can help me (with reasonable $$)......

ok, on the "interest" or "hobby", well, i think i am just one of the many that love to see but have never tried b4. Thanks for AhSiang's suggestion, i will probably have to make it easily dismantle-able...

I am sure the sponsors do make tanks and also maintain them. U can ask them to liaise with your ID on the colour selection and design before u embark on your renovations.

any idea which sponsor will be able to advise? Reefdepot said they do not provide tank set up......

Anyway, we will start reno in early Nov. We have to decide whether we want an aquarium or what kind of aquarium we want as soon as possible. The basic idea is to have it as a divider as shown in my previous post, i am ok to have the bottom part to be a closed cabinet to contain all the unsightly equipments, but to remain the pillar design on the top. Dimension wise, length should be around 180cm, width should not exceed 30cm, height flexible as per design and practicality....

anyone or company please contact me at 9368 1600. those with showroom or demo setup are preferred.

(ok, budget wise....keep it within 4k if possible....)

bro, looking carefully at your width, i think with that 1 foot very difficult to place and scape rocks for corals especially u got to decorate 2 sides... Mine 1.5 feet is already very tough and i think 1 foot will be worse
