Correct me if I am wrong, I thought dkh & pH are proportionally increase with each other !??

Unless I was mis lead!! I was actually looking for a test kit to measure pH but this guy from S*a Lif* told me to buy dkh and he even write me a table to determine pH when dkh is measure!!!

6 dkh : 8 pH

8 : 8.1

10 : 8.2

12 : 8.3

14 : 8.4

Is this true!! Looks like you guys measure them separately! Appreciate your guys advice!

You cannot directly correlate pH and dKH in seawater. It's too complicated and there are too many factors to take into consideration. With increased dKH there is a general trend for the water to stabilise at 8.4. pH fluctuates in the tank so always measure before lights on and just after lights off to get the pH range of the tank.

With a dKH of 6 I won't be surprised if the pH is at 8.7 after lights off and maybe as low as 7.8 before lights on.

It is true.

I have a digital pH tester for testing you know what and a KH tester for testing dKH.

I dont know what happen I can never seem to get my pH up.

dradttg,

It is not true. As I have said before, pH is a range and I can get different pH values when measured at different times of the day. There will not be a chart where you can read off pH corresponding to the dKH unless your tank is just water with nothing else. As dKH increases, the pH range gets smaller.

jc85,

Anything above 8 is good. Never higher than 12.
