dont do it. your tank is far too small for the tang, at any size. and unless you can find those tiny [forgot exactly which] nems, your tank is too small for an anemone. plus they are sensitive inverts, in such a small tank your salinity and temp swings will be too much for them. i highly advise you to remove that cup coral as well. as for rock arrangement, remove some. i wouldnt stock that tank with more than one clown at the most, either.

Very cramp tank. I think no need to use the dead corals. Live rocks will do.

To me its too pack..No need to have so much LR.

dont use those deal corals, it makes ur tank looks dead, bad omen haven start already die

In my opinion,

1. I feel that rockscape is way too packed. It's more pleasing to the eye with less LRs. Yeah, do away with the dead corals.

2. I prefer shallow sand bed (abt 2") so as not to trap detritus.

3. 2 wks cycling is too short. It's better to cycle at least a month for cured rocks or 2 mths for uncured rocks. Better to play safe and respect the marine life. It's not just the $ that you're throwing away as clown fishes can be cheap but more importantly, they are living creatures.

4. Before adding lifestock after cycling period, pls check yr ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Make sure ammonia and nitrite is 0 before adding LS.

u dun have to use anti-chlorine IF u are using distilled water. Do away with the dead corals, very un-sightly. Ur tank i have to agree with others it's too packed. What if next time u wanna put in corals? 2weeks of cycling might be too short. Get ur test kits ready and keep track of the parameters.

PS, is that cup coral really dead?

did another test on my water

results where similar to the ones tested last saturday

ammonia/nitrite 0

nitrate - no test kit

pH 7.8-8.0

temperature 26.5-28

salinity 1.02

are there any more crucial parameter i need to test?

salinity 1.02 (Try to push this up to 1.023 or better 1.025 if you are going to have corals.)

i never buy nitrate test kit because i water change regularly for my freshwater aquarium

will grab 1 asap

For small tank, try to use DI water or buy those NTUC distilled water.

Tap water contain nitrates and other stuffs.

google for tank pics and try to be creative, and try not to stack ur rocks on the back wall, leave space and good to put a wavemaker like seio at the back to prevent deadspots, scape until u confirm like it and dump in mg and ca , reduce po4 to 0 to grow the coralline 1st before putting in any ls

haha good advise but i think most people won't have the patience to wait for coraline to grow before stocking

here are my 2 cents on your tank..

1. remove the dead corals.. live rocks should be more than enough. the plate coral skeleton that is in the vertical position really catches my eye. hah

2. i'll probably check out the temp w/o the fan and see if it is okay. if temp is <29, i'll not use the fan and move the lighting further back, into the middle section.

3. what do you have in the HOF? if its those ceremic rings, get rid of it. besides filter wool, i dunno what else should go in there. probably make it into a mini refugium for pods to grow?

4. get a skimmer, u'll be surprised what kindof stuff it can extract from the water, especially if you are gonna have > 1 fish. even clownfish eats and shits alot too...

5. actually with your LR, you might be able to scape something like an arena style.. something like a colosseum. saw one very nice one on reefcentral before.. u might wanna try that

as for stocking recommendation... clownfish, gobies, shrimps ? you can also try easy to keep corals like mushrooms and maybe zoas.
