Lightings for 4 x 2 x 2 ft tank

Dear all,

I am thinking of getting a 4 x 2 x 2 ft tank but do not know what sort of lights to get.

I would like to keep LFS with some SPS.

I have a budget of $500.

Can you make the following recommendation?

- What brand of Ready made lighting to use?

- How many tubes/bulbs to get and what type?

as advised by senior reefers, 2 x250w mh would be the best if keeping sps.... IMO, u cant get a ready set for ur budget, but you could diy.. u might want to ask dr. evil or orgasbt for help....

Seeing that you have $500 budget. Unlikely you can get MH unless DIY like reefer guy said 2x250W MH.

But that will be raise your tank temp termendously. You will need a big fan to lower the temp. And you will face the trouble of topping up water almost everyday.

So my advise is save more to get both MH and Chiller together.
