OMG! Look at these hybrids and rare fishes!

Recommended Posts

Here is a C.Rapanui in a famous Japanese LFS many years back. It came in with a shipment of litus butterfly and hotumatua angel.

Now that there is no more easter shipment, we can only dream of getting this fish.

The beautiful Sacura Speciosa! Coming out from Bali and Sulawesi this sacura anthias will likely become widely available in a few years to come. It is found at deeper water around 150ft and since it's a sacura species they are active swimmers and usually occur at big numbers at depth, unlike holanthias species which is a more solitary and less active fish. Also one thing interesting about this fish is according to the diver who collected them, the patterns on every fish is different, as different as thumbprints!

And now the beautfiul Sacura Speciosa:

Wah I wish to own one like this!

Yes me too. But the 4-figure price tag and high risk of decompression problems may turn u and me off.

Anyway getting one is not gg to be anytime soon.

Here is an earlei fairy wrasse. This is special because this fish is caught in marshalls and not palau. First sighting and capture of earlei in marshalls. We can expect more to come in the near future.

From what i know, the Sacura speciosa, Sacura Parva were all dead within two nights. The liopropoma lunulatum was sent to europe and is not having swim bladder problem and most likely wont survive. The fate of that piece of Bodianus Masudai is unknown for the moment.

Here are two more deepwater manado fishes they photographed:

Odontanthias Chrysostictus
