it is confirmed. the johnson fairy wrasses appearing in bluehabour and US are from brian greene. he ships to hawaii first then the hawaii supplier ships to japan which is the reason why they are so expensive.

he is sending a P. bellae to dr. tanaka in the next few weeks. once dr. tanaka gets his bellae we can be assured a full lineup of gorgeous photos of this super rare and gorgeous flasher.

Don't you think the Pictilis anthias is very beautiful?

Famed for it's difficulty, but if they ever pop up again i might want to try.

In this video you can see a gorgeous pictilis anthias swimming and eating with other fishes in the Georgia aquarium. also a large male Lamarck's angelfish.

I was at AM yesterday and can't help but noticed a rather common specie BUT a rare coloration; or should I say non-color fish.

Naso unicornis albino. As of posting the fish is still available.

it's not an albino i think.

from the size, it's a very small juvenile and looks very skinny.

could be stressed so badly until the colour faded to white. not uncommon with tangs.

anyway even if it's an albino, i'm not a fan of unicorn tangs. so maybe someone else can go get it if they like.

wow never knew they could look so nice! always come in looking so ugly. this picture shows one that looks like a ghost.

grow too big though.

Wat anthias is this? pseudanthias hypselosoma? They are normally v ugly one.

Pseudanthias flavicauda in captivity. not nice, can get nicer with gorgeous potential!

Nice enough for me. I want.

a trio and a pair of Pseudanthias pictilis.

Gorgeous but very big and difficult to keep.

The trio and the pair are from two reefers in RC and from wat i know all died liao, cant keep v long in captivity.

Pictilis is extremely difficult to sustain in captivity. Almost all those keeping pictilis in RC have failed. Many in this forum like me and other reefers (cant remember their names) who have kept before all also failed on pictilis. So till now i've not hear any success. Only success is with public aquarium, like the one in the pic posted which reside in georgia aquarium. Their beauty is too hard to resist and u should try it if it is ever brought in again. RD and RB will not bring them again becos they are too difficult. So your only chance now is vanuatu pictilis, which i tried before and it is no better den australia one! So all the best.

so discouraging. but i love the back portion of pictilis.

it's really very very beautiful.

Ya discouraging but that's the truth, from my own three times of experience with pictilis and so much info and other reefers' experience that i've read before. But the fish is so so beautiful and i doubt i'll be able to hold back if they ever come in again. Anyway fyi aussie pictilis is 130 each, whereas vanuatu pictilis is only 48.

three very similar looking anthias.

Pseudanthias flavoguttatus, Pseudanthias aurulentus, Pseudanthias privitera.

the first one is commonly available and retails locally, 3 for $100.

on the extreme end, the privitera anthias retails for around $1200 EACH.

worth it? i don't think so.

Honestly, expensive may not be beauty. To each of its own, I guess.

very true.

anyway even if someone is willing to spend that amount of money on a privitera anthias, have to wait very vrey long coz privitera anthias is very difficult to obtain.

i'm contented with bartletts :P
