Told you they were nice... But I have only kept once... The orange base and purple stripes is really bright...

i never said they were not nice wat...

females of rubriventralis, morrisoni, cf. morrisoni, johnallae and naokoae all look very similar being in the same complex.

orange/red with numerous greenish spots which form rows.

rubriventralis is purple spots. like this photo.

the others have green or other colours.

the first picture i posted with the green spots are probably reflection from flash photography. but i've also seen green spotted rubriventralis?

sometimes coral farm will have very young, almost female-males which still retain some of the spots.

well, as proven by my marjorie and vt snowman's rubripinnis, reverse sex change in cirrhilabrus is possible.

next time if you want, buy a very male rubriventralis. make sure it's very very male. get 1-3 very young males with poorly developed colour and finnage. doesn't matter if it has male colouration and fins, as long as it's very subdued, its fine.

throw all of them in at the same time, let the dominant one boss the other 3 around. within a month or so, they should revert back to female.

with my marjorie it took less than a month. from male to female in few weeks, and from female back to male took slightly longer.

I think cannot.. Rubriventralis is very fierce leh... Very risky to give it a try..

rubriventralis is the most peaceful in it's complex. naokoae is the fiercest.

rubriventralis compared to other fairies are considered quite peaceful already.

it is possible if you have a large tank. and like if can, get more than 1 sub male so it's aggression will be spread out amongst the other sub-males.

wat we want is not for it to kill them, but express enough aggression until it reverts back to female.

no use if it's too peaceful. it will never work on very very peaceful species like flame wrasse. you can keep 2-3 male flame wrasses together and nothing will happen. neither will it work on extremely aggressive species lik pylei, roseafascia or scottorum

fierce is good. we want fierce. but moderately fierce.

But I heard it is quite bad when they start fighting between the males.. Next time if see a very female male.. Will see how when it comes...

anyway they're very cheap. so can try.

but i'm sure it will work. rubriventralis is not overly aggressive like roseafasica and some others.
