Hi pals, do u guys actually quarantine ur beloved fishes with lower salinity water before introducing into the main tank? I understand ICH and other diseases are more unikely to breakout in lower salinity conditions. Your inputs please, thanks!

yes please quarantine all fishes b4 quarantine, if can keep them there for a month to be safe,

u can keep them in the same salinity as ur tank so easier to acclimatize when u gonna transfer them into the main display,

lower salinity of 1.015 can get rid of ich , but the problem is the fishes can take well to lowering their salinity but going back up has to be done very carefully,

so u wanna do hypo on if they really have ich, if not then just do normal quarantine

to get rid of ick by hypo, ur sg should be 1.009 instead of 1.015.
