Floating amphipods

Hi all,

Recently I have been seeing floating amphipods around my tank everyday. Most of the time they don't seem to be moving. Do amphipods shed their shell? I only keep tangs, chromis, clownfish and algae bleeny. All are not interested in the floating amphipod except my blue tang.

Must i be worry over this "die-offs" because i have been seeing it everyday since 2 weeks ago.

Is your water surface very still? I've seen shells floating around in my tank before, but it usually gets blown around till its filtered off or settled down somewhere.

Hi peacemaker, it's not still, got alot of currents... do u mean that amphipods shed their skin just like cleaner shrimps do?

I should think so, or at least I've seen them in my tank.
