NO 3 high.........

Recommended Posts

Erm..either you go for denitrator if you got $$.

If not..on budget then go for deep sand bed in a refugium or sump.

If the above choices dun suit you...then simply don't bother about the nitrates and stick to soft corals.

I heard denitrator only works a few months later ?

I dun have a refrigium n sump, i'm using eheim PROII canister from my previous FW tank, anyway my tank is only 2 ft

but i do notice that my soft corals only open when i change water.... i guess due to high NO3

n I lost my harlequin becos of that i guess...... :cry2:

? Soft corals can withstand high No3..I have kept them in NO3 levels of 50ppm and above and they still bloom.

I think the reason is for such a small tank..there can be problems with pH and alkalinity..which explains why they only bloom after you change water.

If you don't believe...measure your NO3 levels..try changing 50% of your water...after changing water measure your NO3 levels again..it will be a miracle already if you notice a 20% drop in nitrate levels.....

I'm not sure where to get it from now..you might check with eAquanature our sponsor....just follow the instructions on the bottle and it should be fine..Have heard many success stories of using it..but till now I have'nt tried myself..i prefer natural methods.
