live rock rotting?

saw white/greyish patch on my 3 day old live rocks. are they dying? should i throw them away?

i suppose you are still in the process of cycling. Its normal, you can brush them off, no need to throw them away.

No need to worry excessively...all organic matter will end up with the same fate...ashes to ashes..dust to dust..all will end up into nitrates..and hopefully reduced to harmless nitrogen.

if your tank is still in the cycling stage, leave it alone. its probably some rotting stuff that used to live on your rock. it will probably help speed up your cycling process

bear with the smell abit, my mother almost threw me and my tank out of the house when i was cycling.Now she can sit in front of the tank and stare at it for a long time

i got my rocks from pr and clementi poly art..last time

they dont have such problems but there are very expensive..

other cheaper ones like 8 or 10 per kg will have such prob.

Its because fiji rocks are precured before they are shipped and cured further in PR.
