hi wanna know wat exactly does reef builder do? heard from a friend that if it's not used for some period of time LR will turn white and corals will die izit true?

your corals won't die if you stop using reef bulider. It is basically a supplement to boost your reef system. Dosing would depend on how much reef inhabitants you have in your tank. Use to dose mine like 10ml once a week mixed in a cup of distilled water for a 4 footer. Did do some good though.

Theres more to reef keeping besides reef builder supplements , trace elements etc. Husbandary in general is the best form to keeping your corals and it's inhabitants healthy and in good form. With this hobby you have to be on your toes all the time

If you are referring to the Seachem Reef Builder, it is an carbonate alkalinity supplement.

If you keep corals, you have to monitor your alk levels as this is important for calcification.

SPS corals are extremely capable of depleting alkalinity in a reef tank... once it falls too low, lost of growth and colours may occur. For LPS, soft corals, its not much of a problem.

Coralline algae also appreciates the same water parameters that SPS corals thrive in, so the statement that your 'LR will turn white' is not entirely untrue if alkalinity is allowed to be fall too low and the coralline algae bleaches.

Its as simple as stirring it into a glass of tapwater and pouring it slowly into your sump.

dosing reef builder goes any which way you choose bro doesn't really matter if it is a sump , a side overflow or a canister just make sure the particles are dissolved properly as you don't want anything settling onto your corals or inverts
