Hi there, I'm new to coral keeping and is now starting with a easy starter mushroom coral. I hv the following mushroom for one week now. May I know if it looks healthy? I hv this concern cos I never see it fully open up. Sometimes it even curls up. And I saw one small little mushroom not far from it, probably ard 2mm in diameter. May I know how long it will take to grow to ard say 3cm wide?

Hi Bro, newbie here also. Yr mushy looks ok. It should be ok as long as it doesnt melt....hehehe. Being a starter and you start off with yuma...hehehe....

me dont dare to keep yuma...hehe....only colour mushrooms for me...hehe....

Try to monitor it, sometime, they need more time to settle down and open up nice nice....hehe.

All the best. : )

Thanks, do you think I should move it slightly higher so that it is nearer the light? Maybe put on top of a LR?

Bro,

Yes you can but do it slowly. Drastic change might stress yuma. IMO, yuma seems to be harder to keep than normal mushroom. They at times really take a lengthy period to settle down and start to show their beauty....hehe....the choice is yours....lol...do post yr test result so that we can learn also...hehe.

It's my fault. I searched info for beginner corals and found mushrooms as one of them. But did not memorise the names of different species well. and I was not specific at Irwana. only told the uncle I want to get mushroom that is easy for first timer. So he recommended this.

I'll move the yuma higher abit n see its response.

Now shifted higher a bit. From the pic, can tell whether lighting is too bright or not?

Lucky uncle never give you ric...lol....but imo, ric is nicer and easier to keep(because me keeping and it survived...wahahaha). Yuma, didnt dare to try.....u can try to get different colour yuma....pink one is nice...hehehe .....but heard not easy to keep. Once you find good spot for the yuma, just leave it and monitor. Sometime cannot over react. All the best. : )
