WTG items to get started in Marine Tanks

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

intend to get started in this hobby of marine tank set-up after getting my NANO tank (GEX Genoah 235 - 24cm cube tank with Hang-on filter & Hang-on light] & require the following items. If you have any of the item & you intend to let it go (be it FOC or at a price), do PM me to discuss:

1) Live rocks (Hopefully can get FOC from kind souls in here who might be in the process of rescaping or decomm their marine tanks) - Think I only need a small quantity/size as my GEX tank is only of 24cm cube type.

2) An instrument/ guage [similar to that of a refractometer but less sophisticated & cheaper also] that will tell me if the salinity of my water is correct (Anyone who has a new/2nd hand one & still in good condition can PM me)

3) Chaeto - which I intend to put inside my GEX's hang-on filter compartment.

Preferbably to collect/deal in Northeastern part of Singapore as I'm living in Punggol 21 area. Thanks alot in advance!!

Regards.

Still waiting to collect some LRs & LSs from 2 kind bros [Hopefully will be able to do so soon so that I may start cycling my tank...] :)

However, am still looking for (2) Hydrometer [Now I know what it's called after reading up... or anyone letting go of a new/ 2ndhand refractometer which is in good condition? Do PM me the brand/model/pics (if any) & also looking for (3) Chaeto to place in my Gex HOF once I'd collected the LRs & LSs...

Cheers

I do not recommend a second hand floating hand hydrometer. The metal piece can drop out for not reason. Get a new one. Its rather cheap. And I'd still recommend you go for a second hand Refractometer.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Thanks arcanehacker, any idea how much does a brand new floating hand hydrometer cost & where may I purchase one (any shops near Punggol area?)? If really the cost difference isn't that much, dun mind spending more on a new/ 2ndhand refractometer.... Think saw on one webby that a new one's going at $60+... Any other places/ shops for better prices/quality suggestions? Thanks once again!!
