They prefer live food. Try feeding with live freshwater shrimps. $2 for a packet at LFS. Then slowly subsitute with market prawn.

Quite troublesome with the live shrimps. Had to put them in a large container with air hose. Water will stink after a week.

Fun to watch them spread their fins when stalking their prey. But had to give away all my lionfishes when they grew too large.

I used to have a dwarf that refused to feed for the first 1 week. So dun panick, they will eventually feed. Give them live feed for the first few weeks and slowly change their diet to frozen food. Lions are hardy creature, esp with russells, so dun worry.

get some fresh water shrimps. What I did in the past was to let go one at a time and monitor the lion's reaction.

After that, I'll hold on the shrimps and lure the lion to me. A stime goes by, they will wack their tail whenever U walk pass....like a little dog...veri cute.

Then you can introduce chopped shrimps.....later pellets...it takes patience to train your lionfish...but definitely worth it ;)

Perhaps its still acclimitising. If its only in the tank for the past couple of days, then its quite normal that it wont feed. Give it more time. I waited for more than a week before my lions started eating (the only other time they opened their mouths is yawning :D:D ).
