I am setting up a Canister filter for my marine tank. but i read the posts here and found out that there is a saying of canister filter is a NO3 producer.

I am a canister user. i like to find out what media do you guys normally put in your canister? do you still use those bio home etc to cult beneficial bacteria ?

What is the recommended medias to put into the canister? eg like coral chip, cabon, etc
