they dun grow on live rocks...they are like seaweed like that. a form of marine plant or macroalgae.

usually place in the sump with light and flow to allow the chaeto to reduce NO level in the water. Hope i am right. Never try before but you must have the space. Seek for correction. Thanks.

Priming means trimming off certain amount of cheatos away. The remaining cheato will work harder by exporting more nutrient from the tank in order to grow. Thus, result to nutrient poor environment where corals can prosper and fishes can live happier.

but wouldnt it be better to just let the chaetos grow ie. more chaetos = more nutrients absorbed from the water?
