Excess coraline???

I have lots and lots of coraline in my 150 gal reef tank. I really have no problem and it grows everywhere. Of course I have no problem with this at all, as the more the merrier except that it is also starting to grow on the sand, meaning I have to rake the sand daily.

And no, its not red slime algae, or other red algae, it is def coraline algae growing on the sand.

Any ideas what to do? Just leave it or what?

How about removing your sandbed??? Or Change your sandbed and add a few burrowing species like banana wrasse where they sleep in the sand at night or gobies??? Think about it...

1ft cube with IOS [the low tech tank]

1. JBJ C-breeze to keep temp hovering around 27-28'C

2. LED clip on - 120 bulbs

-skimmer-less-

My 3 humble equipments that keeps my tank running... [DRIED OUT]

1. The RSM itself of course 2.My NEW Deltec MCE-300 Skimmer 3. My trusty Arctica Chiller

Tank parameters:

Temperature maintained at 25.3'C to 24.7'C

No3: 10ppm(b4 the use of the deltec skimmer)

No3: 5ppm (after use of the skimmer)

Others? too lazy to measure...LOL

I have a plenum tank design so the deep sand bed is integral to that. I vacuum the sand and replace some every 6 months or so. I used to have a couple of gobies but they used to shift too much sand and bury corals that were down low. Now I have three sand dollars but they are pretty useless. maybe i need the gobies again and just move any low corals out of the way

Coraline on sand?

Never seen that before man... I too have lots of coraline algae on my tank and rocks cos rocks have been used for 6 years liao.

never got the problem of it growing on my sand.

Probably can use a goby or sea cucumber to help you clean the sand
