Well yeah.. not much review on it but I did heard of personal experiences. Someone told me its not as accurate. Well, I do not really know if its not as accurate because of the probe (which is changeable to other brands but then again an extra $100+)? or the controller unit it self not accurate.

Why not just go for the American Pinpoint? BTW it seems you have been looking for an ORP controller for the longest time.. any reason for that?

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Dear all,

Thanks for your replies and advices. Ya, looking for orp for quite sometime. Got offers but not very comfortable with either price or the equipment. Need an orp to monitor my water. Just an additional measure as i am using a ozoniser which unlikely to hit above 400 mv. Hence, hoping to look for second hand. Since no luck, had ordered one but later cancelled it because Bro gary is decomming his tank and i am getting from him.

For the benefit of reefers looking for orp, i did a comparison between Milwaukee and Pinpoint. This is more on the design aspect. Personally pinpoint is neater with just one main power source. Milwaukee needs two power sources. Prize wise, $100 different For Milwaukee, you need to buy adapter for the power control socket. Best is to get the shop to show you and you will understand. Another thing to note, is the range that the controller can monitor. Learned from weapon_master. Some can measure and control negative Mv. Thanks again. : )

I heard it does not has the calibrate function. IMO, all most electronic probe product need to be calibrate...

Not really.. even good brand like Aqua Medic doesn't have calibration feature.

To me, maybe its like a temp probe. You do not calibrate a temp monitor of controller. They are all factory calibrated.

Yes, everything needs calibration. After working with lab ppl, understand thermometer also need calibration on yearly basis to pass the audit check. Thanks all. : )

I am using Pinpoint ORP Controller for my Sander Ozonizer.

Quote from the Users Guide http://www.americanmarineusa.com/orpcontroller.html:

"For the highest precision you should calibrate the ORP probe immediately and every month thereafter to insure readings..."

Aquamedic to control my Denitrator, American Pinpoint to control ozone.. the other is a pH and ORP controller by Aquahouse (mainly using it for pH.. occasionally use it to double confirm readings with my Pinpoint controller.

well its always the case isn't it.. after knwoing the inside workings.. people become sorta paranoid. I know of medical lab friend. she is constantly paranoid about bacteria everywhere. I worked partime in restaurants, hotel banquet.. if I were paranoid, I would be very concern about whats on my plate..
