power head with no brand

i bot a powerhead tht has a spec of 30W, output of 2800L/hr but the performance is not that great leh.

i tried to fill up my tank with water by putting it into a pail from the toilet, which is constantly filled with tap water and pump the water into the my tank, which is on a higher ground. it fails to pump in water.

does this means it is underperforming?

if it is underforming what brand and what output should i buy for my 110 g tank?

You have to be careful with things with no brand. I remember reading a few months ago about Luo han fish tank that catch fire.

It the purpose of the pump to pump water from the sump to the main tank? If so, I think it would be better for you to tell what is the distance between your sump and main tank as well as what is the gallons per hour that you hope to achieve.

Bro Roidan introduce me to Ehiem 1262 for a 3 ft sump to 4 ft main tank over a height of 4 - 5 ft with flow rate of 1200 gph.

At this point, it only meant that the pump cannot handle much pressure (backpressure).

I just bought this Power Liquid Filter 800 Power Head, its brand is called TOM, It was recommended by the fish shop in clementi and he say it is not bad and it is from Japan...heard of this before

I'm sure you are aware that salt water corrodes metal.

One of its end product being rust, which isn't exactly healthy to the tank inhabitants.

You should be able to figure out the rest.

err i only know the propeller is made of plastic. cannot open it...

The propeller is part of the impellar assembly, pull it gently and you should be able to get it out for inspectioin.

If its fixed permanently, then I'll leave it to you to decide if you want to risk it.
