Black spots on clownfish...

let me guess, your clowns are hosting on a coral and not an anemone?

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

its hosting a lps right?

clowns will get these black spots when they host in a coral thats not an anemone, i think its because of the adaptation to the different sting..

my old tank clowns have those when they hosted octos, frogspawn etc.. it clears away after some time with a good healthy diet.. :)

just my opinions..

congrats.. haha, but do keep a lookout for the xenia, some corals get stressed with the clowns disturbing it.. :)

On the contrary, the xenias are growing and spreading up quite a bit. They are beginning their migration, so I'm not sure where they will decide to settle down... <_< Hence the similarities between anemones and xenias...

Haha... if they actually grow striking white spots (not diseases!) instead of stripes, they would indeed fit the name of clown fish!
